The PSD90-1C61 Universal AC/DC capacitance tester checks out and calibrates AC or DC fuel gauging systems, both on or off of an aircraft. This test set can simulate capacitance values for the operation of indicators and also measure the insulation resistance of tank units and cabling. Virtually automatic operation - no manual nulling is required. Includes four modes:
Manual Megger/DC cap ranging mode: user can manually select range to speed up troubleshooting and locating intermittent faults
Low Voltage/Low Current Mode: assists user in isolating intermittent connections that other test seats may mask (fritting)
REV DC (DC+) Mode: measures capacitance from the DC+ side of the tank unit for testing and troubleshooting DC+ circuits
Distance-to-fault (DTF) mode: measures capacitance between the center conductor and shield of any coaxial or shielded wire, thus determining the "length" of the wire or the approximate distance to a break in the wire or shield. Closed box calibration using front panel controls - performed annually
- Lightweight/portable
- Relies on external power or its rechargeable battery with a readout to display percent of battery capacity remaining
- Self-test on power-up
- Measures DC voltage
- Manual or auto ranging
- 2 and 3 wire megger
- Compliant with Boeing Spec 10-61959 Rev H
